Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
God's Plans Are Good
Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the most loved verses in the Bible, but it helps to know the story behind it. God spoke these words to the Israelites while they were living as captives in Babylon. Their city had been destroyed, their temple was gone, and they were far from home. Things could not have looked worse, and yet, right in the middle of that painful season, God sent them a message: "I know the plans I have for you."
Notice that God did not say the situation was good, He said His plans were good, that is an important difference. The Israelites were suffering, and God did not pretend otherwise, but He wanted them to know that their suffering was not the end of the story. He had not forgotten them, and He was not finished with them.
The core truth here is simple and beautiful: God sees the whole picture when we can only see a small piece of it. He knows where you are right now, He knows where you are going, and He is working things together for your good, even when you cannot see how.
This promise was not just for ancient Israel, as believers in Jesus, we can hold onto this truth too. Romans 8:28 echoes the same idea, reminding us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him. That includes the hard seasons, the unanswered prayers, and the plans that did not work out the way you hoped.
Today, if you are in a difficult place, bring your worry to God in prayer.
Tell Him what you are feeling, and then choose to trust that His plans for you are good, because He said so, and He does not lie.
Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.— Corrie ten Boom
