約伯記 19:25
“我知道我的救贖主活着, 末了必站立在地上。”
My Redeemer Lives Today
Job was at the bottom of a very deep pit. He had lost his children, his health, his wealth, and the support of his closest friends. He was sitting in ashes, scraping his sores, and listening to people tell him that God had abandoned him, and yet right in the middle of all that pain, Job said something that still echoes thousands of years later: "I know that my Redeemer lives".
That word "Redeemer" meant something specific in Job's world. In the ancient Near East, a redeemer was a close family member who stepped in to rescue you when you couldn't rescue yourself. Job was saying that he had someone like that, someone who was not just willing to help, but alive and able to act.
The core truth here is that Job's hope was not in his circumstances getting better, his hope was in a Person. We know now, looking back through the whole Bible, that the Redeemer Job was pointing to is Jesus Christ. Jesus is the one who stepped into our situation, paid a debt we could never pay, and rose from the grave so that death would not have the final word.
Maybe your life feels a lot like Job's right now, when things have fallen apart in ways you never expected. The good news is the same for you as it was for Job: your Redeemer lives. He is not distant or silent, He is risen, He is present, and He is for you.
Today, let Job's confession become yours. Speak it out loud if you need to: "I know that my Redeemer lives".
That truth is enough to carry you through anything.
The resurrection is the cornerstone of the entire Christian edifice.— Billy Graham
