Renewed Day by Day
Paul had been beaten, shipwrecked, imprisoned, and left for dead. He was not writing a letter about hardship from a comfortable chair, he knew what it felt like when life wore a person down, and yet he said, "We do not lose heart."
How could he say that? Because Paul had learned to see two things at once. He saw the visible world around him, the pain, the aging body, and the difficult circumstances, but he also kept his eyes fixed on something invisible, something eternal that was being prepared for him through every hard moment. That word "preparing" is so important. Paul did not say suffering is meaningless or that God simply allows it and looks away, he said God is using it. Every trial, every loss, every hard season is doing something in us and for us. It is shaping an eternal glory that goes far beyond anything we can measure right now.
Your body may be tired, life may feel heavy. You might be facing something that has worn you down to the very edge. That is real, and God does not dismiss it, but here is the good news: while the outside is wearing down, the inside is being renewed every single day. That renewal is God's work, not yours. You do not have to manufacture strength, you simply stay close to Him and trust that He is at work.
Today, ask God to shift your focus, not away from your problems, but beyond them. What you see right now is temporary, what God is building in you is forever.
Let that truth hold you steady today.
We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.— C.S. Lewis
