Verse of the Day

Isaiah 40:28-31

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary; His understanding is beyond searching out. He gives power to the faint and increases the strength of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”

Drawing Near With Faith

Hebrews 11 is often called the "Hall of Faith." It is a sweeping look at men and women throughout the Old Testament who trusted God even when they could not see what He was doing. Abel, Noah, Abraham, Moses, all of them took God at His word, and right in the middle of this great chapter, the writer pauses to give us the reason faith matters so much: without it, we simply cannot please God.

That might sound like a hard truth, but it is actually a very freeing one. God is not asking us to be perfect, He is not asking us to have all the answers or to never struggle, He is asking us to trust Him. Faith is the foundation of our whole relationship with God.

The verse gives us two things we must believe: first, that God exists. Not just that He might exist, but that He truly is there, that He is real, and that He is paying attention to our lives. Second, that He rewards those who seek Him. This is so important, God is not distant or cold. He is a God who responds to those who come to Him. He sees your prayers, He sees your searching, and He promises that seeking Him is never wasted.

Think about what it means to "draw near" to God. It is a personal, intentional act. You do not drift into closeness with God, you choose to come to Him, through prayer, through reading His Word, through worship, and when you come, faith is what carries you. You come believing He is there and that He cares.

Today, wherever you are, take a moment to draw near. Bring your doubts, your worries, your questions. God welcomes all of it, just come with faith, trusting that He is real and that He is good.
