Verse of the Day

John 14:2-3

“In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am.”

A Place Prepared for You

These words from Jesus come on one of the hardest nights of His earthly life. It was the night before the cross, and His disciples were scared and confused. Jesus knew what was coming, and yet He turned to His friends and spoke words of pure comfort. That tells us something important: even when life feels like it is falling apart, Jesus is thinking about us.

The phrase "my Father's house" would have meant something beautiful to a Jewish listener. It pointed to the presence of God, to home, to belonging. Jesus was saying that heaven is not a cold, distant place, it is a home, and there is plenty of room. He was not speaking in vague spiritual terms, He was making a real promise to real people who were really afraid.

The heart of this passage is a personal promise. Jesus did not say, "I'll go prepare a place", He said, "I'll go prepare a place for you". That little word changes everything. This is not a promise for the crowd in general, it is a promise spoken directly to every person who trusts in Him. God has not forgotten you, He is actively working on your behalf, even right now. Then comes the part that should make every believer's heart leap: "I will come again". Jesus is coming back, this is not wishful thinking, it is the certain promise of the One who has never broken a promise. He rose from the dead and He will return.

So whatever you are carrying today, hold onto this: Jesus has gone ahead to make a place for you, and He is coming to bring you home. That is not a distant hope, it is a living, breathing promise from the One who loves you most.

Let that truth settle into your heart today. You are not forgotten, you are expected.
