今日經文

馬太福音 28:19-20

“所以,你們要去,使萬民作我的門徒,奉父、子、聖靈的名給他們施洗 。 凡我所吩咐你們的,都教訓他們遵守,我就常與你們同在,直到世界的末了。」”

Grace in the Waiting

Lamentations is not the kind of book we rush to when we want to feel good. It was written by the prophet Jeremiah after Jerusalem had fallen, the temple had been destroyed, and God's people had been carried off into exile. These were some of the darkest days in Israel's history, and yet, right in the middle of all that grief and loss, Jeremiah writes these beautiful words:

"The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him"

Think about that, Jeremiah is sitting in the ruins of everything he loved, and he chooses to declare that God is still good. Not because his circumstances were good, but because he knew who God was. That is real faith.

Waiting is hard. We live in a world that moves fast, and we like answers right away. When God seems quiet, we start to wonder if He has forgotten us, but Jeremiah reminds us that waiting on God is not wasted time, it is an act of trust. It says, "Lord, I believe you are working even when I cannot see it".

The verse also says it is good to wait "quietly". That word quietly means to settle down, to stop striving and let God be God. So much of our anxiety comes from trying to fix things that only God can fix. Waiting quietly means we bring our worries to Him and then rest in His hands.

If you are in a hard season right now, take heart, God has not forgotten you. He is good to those who seek Him, and He is working in ways you may not see yet. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep your eyes on Him. His timing is always worth the wait.

Wait on God and He will work, but don't wait in spiritual sulks because you cannot see an inch in front of you.
