욥기 42:2
“주께서는 무소불능하시오며 무슨 경영이든지 못 이루실 것이 없는줄 아오니”
Beyond What We Can Imagine
Corinth was a city full of smart, sophisticated people who valued wisdom and status. The rulers of that day, both Roman and religious, thought they were in control when they sent Jesus to the cross, but they had no idea what they were doing. They could not see that the crucifixion was not a defeat, it was God's greatest plan unfolding right before their eyes.
That is the heart of verses 8 and 9. The wisdom of God is so far above human thinking that even the most powerful people in the world missed it completely. They looked at a man dying on a cross and saw failure. God was doing something they could never have dreamed up on their own.
Paul quotes from Isaiah to remind us of something beautiful, God has prepared things for those who love Him that go beyond anything we can see, hear, or even picture in our minds. Think about the best moment of your life, the most peaceful day, the deepest joy you have ever felt. What God has waiting for those who trust in Jesus is better than all of that put together.
This is not just about heaven someday, though it certainly includes that. It is also a reminder for today. When life feels confusing, when things do not go the way you hoped, when it seems like nothing makes sense, God is still working. His plans are bigger than what you can see right now.
If you love Him, you are not forgotten. You are not without hope. You are held by a God whose goodness stretches further than your imagination can reach.
Trust Him today. The best is still ahead.
I have learned that faith means trusting in advance what will only make sense in reverse.— Philip Yancey
