Verse of the Day

Jude 1:24-25

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.”

Held Safe Until the End

There is a quiet fear many believers carry but rarely say out loud: What if I don't make it? What if I fall too far, fail too badly, or wander too long, and in the end I am not found worthy to stand before God?

Jude writes this closing benediction to a church under pressure. False teachers had crept in, faith was being tested, and some were drifting. Into that real and messy situation, Jude speaks not with a warning but with a declaration of praise. He points every anxious believer away from their own grip and toward God's.

The key phrase is this: God "is able to keep you from stumbling". That word "keep" carries the idea of a guard standing watch. You are not holding yourself up by sheer willpower, God is actively, carefully, continuously holding you. The goal of that keeping is breathtaking: to present you "unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy". Not barely making it through the back door, not arriving covered in shame, but presented, spotless, with joy, before the Father.

This is only possible because of Jesus Christ, His righteousness is what makes you unblemished. His finished work on the cross is what qualifies you to stand in that glorious presence at all. Salvation by grace really does go all the way to the finish line.

So when that quiet fear rises up, here is where to bring it. Not to your own track record, but to this God who is able.
Pray it to Him today: Lord, I cannot keep myself, but You can keep me, and I trust You to do it.

His glory, majesty, dominion, and authority are not in question, and neither is His commitment to bring you safely home.
